District #40 is located in downtown Glendale, Arizona. Comprised of fourteen
K-8 schools servicing more than 11,000 students, Glendale Elementary School
District (GESD) strives to meet the technological challenges of the future.
Aiming to achieve educational excellence, we strive to provide the best
educational programs for our children. GESD's accomplishments
include:
- Challenger Middle School
has twice been named one of five Arizona A+ Schools.
- Two of our schools were
selected as Arizona Literacy Sites.
- GESD teachers have
received national, state, and local recognition.

Norwood School District
consists of three buildings: Norwood Bright Futures (pre-school children),
Norwood Primary (K-4), and Norwood Elementary (5-8). All three buildings are
modern and provide a stimulating atmosphere for learning. District enrollment
usually runs about 460 students.
Our goal is to provide a quality education
to each student in our district. We promote a variety of special programs that
will meet the needs of the whole child. Besides 2-3 classrooms at each grade
level, the district also provides teachers for vocal music, beginning and
advanced band, computer education, physical education, and special education. A
school nurse, social worker, psychologist, and speech therapist are available
as needed.
